WOLUFF ORIGINAL MERINO 100 is a 100% merino wool yarn developed by Towayra, using carefully selected wool from American sheep farms. The wool comes from a variety of merino sheep closely related to the original breed, retaining the natural qualities of the fibre: generous loft, excellent elasticity and a naturally warm, soft feel.
Spun in Japan, in the Bishu region (Aichi Prefecture), this yarn stands out for its lightly twisted construction, combining the characteristic volume of a roving-style yarn with improved structure and stability. The result is an even, well-defined stitch that is easy to work with, while retaining a soft, airy texture.
Its naturally lofty fibres trap air, creating garments that are exceptionally warm yet lightweight. Its beautiful texture enhances textured stitches and cables. With its versatile mid-range thickness, it is equally suited to sweaters and cardigans as well as accessories such as hats and mittens.
